Chiefs HC Andy Reid on Patrick Mahomes' connection with Rashee Rice

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to reporters via Zoom recently, commenting on Patrick Mahomes’ ongoing connection growth with Rashee Rice.

“Yeah, they’re (wide receivers) doing okay. I was proud of one (Xavier Worthy) and four (Rashee Rice), they both pushed through some nagging things there with the ankle and the hamstring to get themselves out there and actually get out and play. They had some good plays and big plays for us. For the most part, yeah, they’re on the same page with the quarterback (Patrick Mahomes).”

During the Week 13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, with 13:10 left in the first quarter, Mahomes connected with Rice for a 27-yard touchdown on the second play of the Chiefs’ opening drive. Later, in the fourth quarter, with 14:56 left in the game, Mahomes connected with Rice again, this time from the Dallas three-yard line, for his second touchdown of the game.

Since returning from suspension in Week 7, Rice has tallied an impressive 42 catches, 486 yards, and five touchdowns. He’s also rushed for a touchdown so far this season.
