The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Dallas Cowboys, 31-28, on Thanksgiving night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Chiefs dropped to 6-6 on the season with the loss, while the Cowboys improved to 6-5-1 on the year.
“Just missed opportunities,” Patrick Mahomes said postgame. “Just like all the losses we’ve had this year. Getting the ball twice at midfield at the start of the second half, and not coming through and getting points at all. That stuff you can’t do against good football teams, and we did that today.”

But while the Chiefs suffered a loss on Thursday, they could be soon fined by the NFL for a controversial play.
During the game, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was hit hard. No flag was thrown, but the league could review this play and ultimately dish out a five-figure fine.

The Chiefs are awaiting punishment from the NFL
Chiefs rookie defensive end Ashton Gillotte could get hit hard by the NFL for this play.
“The referees did not call a roughing the passer penalty on Gillotte, but the rookie is not out of the woods just yet. The NFL Officiating Department reviews every play from every game, and this incident could draw significant attention,” Athlon Sports wrote.
“A roughing the passer violation is eligible for a $17,389 fine for a first offense and $23,186 for a second offense. Gillotte has not been fined by the NFL this season. Gillotte and the Chiefs will now need to wait for the league’s potential punishment decision, which will be announced via the gameday accountability report.”
The Chiefs, meanwhile, are off on Sunday, before returning to the field in Week 14.
