Marcus Davenport injury report: Detroit Lions DE cleared to return

Marcus Davenport is back and ready for action.

The Detroit Lions activated Davenport from injured reserve Wednesday, Nov. 26, clearing the way for him to play in their Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers.

Davenport has not played since straining a pectoral muscle in a Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears, and the Lions have struggled to generate pass rush from the defensive end spot opposite Aidan Hutchinson in his absence.

Hutchinson leads the Lions with 8½ sacks and Al-Quadin Muhammad has six, with his contributions coming primarily as an interior rusher. Davenport had one sack in the season’s first two games.

The Lions activated Davenport from IR and rookie guard Miles Frazier from the physically unable to perform list as part of a slew of roster moves Wednesday that included officially welcoming Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow back from retirement.

They also waived running back Craig Reynolds, signed tight end Anthony Firkser and receiver Tom Kennedy from the practice squad to the active roster, and elevated center Kingsley Eguakun and tight end Zach Horton from practice squad to the gameday roster.

Firkser and Horton give the Lions depth at tight end with Brock Wright out against the Packers with a neck injury, and Eguakun will serve as the backup center behind Trystan Colon with Graham Glasgow out with a knee injury.
