“I’m not saying this because I’m with the Detroit Lions. Like, to me, he — I don’t care what team he was on or how long he played or where he started — he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, man,” said Campbell. “Hell of a dude, hell of a player, productive that long, that many years, durability, production, the whole thing.”

Campbell recalled playing with Brown in New York and praised him as a great teammate. ”

He was the guy that just wanted to help you, like, you know, whatever help,” Campbell said.

He shared a story about Brown covering for him during a tough play against Washington, highlighting Brown’s selflessness and dependability.

On the headset issue from the nail-biting overtime victory against the New York Giants, Campbell said, “I don’t know what happened. We asked about it. We don’t know.”

Campbell expressed excitement about the Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers, calling it an opportunity.

“This one’s about to be honest again, which that’s exciting,” Campbell said. “You only got a few days. You’re trying to get everything in that you can to help your guys get ready to go.”

Regarding Michael Parsons, Campbell called him “a really good player” and “a great player.”

Injury update

Campbell also addressed the status of Marcus Davenport, who was able to put up a full practice ahead of Thursday’s (Nov. 27) matchup.

“It would be big to be able to get him back,” Campbell said, noting Davenport’s hard work in rehab and hope for his return.

On Kalif Raymond‘s ankle injury, Campbell said, “It’s a little stiff, a little swollen. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.”

Kerby Joseph is not expected to play this week, Campbell said, emphasizing the importance of proper rehab and strengthening to avoid recurring injuries.

Giants victory

Reflecting on a recent tough win, Campbell said it gave the team confidence.

“When you’re able to come back and win a game in that fashion, it speaks volumes of your team and where you’re at,” Campbell said.

Campbell praised running back Jahmyr Gibbs’ versatility and football intelligence.

“He’s got instincts. He’s an instinctive football player. He’s got unbelievable vision for a runner,” Campbell said. “How can you not use the guy and get him some touches?”

On rookie Isaac TeSlaa, Campbell said, “We like where TeSlaa is at. He’s had a ton of growth.”

Campbell acknowledged the learning curve but expressed confidence in Isaac’s development and future production.

Campbell discussed the balance in the passing game between taking deep shots and managing risk.

“You got to have both. You got to be willing to do a little bit of both,” Campbell said.

Defensive struggles

On defensive struggles with third-and-long situations, Campbell acknowledged issues with penalties, missed tackles, and pressure.

“We just got to play as one,” Campbell said. “We want them in second long. We want them in third and long. So, we got to be better, and we will be better.”

Thanksgiving meal

When asked about the key to the perfect Thanksgiving plate, Campbell humorously replied, “Variety,” and then said, “If you’re giving me one, give me ham. Ham is the key to the perfect plate.” He added a nod to fried turkey as a favorite.
