THE Cleveland Browns have refused to name a starting quarterback ahead of facing the San Francisco 49ers.
This comes after rookie Shedeur Sanders, 23, led the Browns to just their third win of the season in his first start for the franchise.

But head coach Kevin Stefanski is keeping an open mind ahead of facing the 49ers in Week 13.
Sanders threw one touchdown as the Browns claimed a 24-10 win against the Las Vegas Raiders yesterday.
The game marked his first start in the NFL.
Sanders had to wait until the 144th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft to get selected after being initially slated as a first-round prospect.
He was then forced to be a backup for veteran Joe Flacco, 40, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, 24.
But his first outing for the Browns finally came against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11 after an injury to Gabriel.
Quarterback Sanders then made his first start against the Raiders a week later.
However, Sanders’ performance in just the Browns’ third win of the season may not be enough to keep the starting position.
“I’m not going to get into that,” head coach Stefanski said. “Obviously proud of [Sanders].
“I’m proud of this offense, and there are a ton of things to learn from. But I’m going to worry about today.”
Coach Stefanski is keen to let the rookie quarterbacks battle for status as the Browns’ starter.
Sanders believes that he is now proving the doubters wrong.
“Everybody starts at different places,” Sanders said. “Just because I didn’t get the summer reps, that’s how life is.
“It’s no excuse. A lot of people want to see me fail, and it isn’t going to happen.”
Quarterback Sanders shared a touching moment with his NFL legend dad Deion, 58, ahead of his first start.
He went on to post a 87.3 passer rating in his first career start.
The Browns remain last in the AFC North after 11 games.
They will return to the Huntington Bank Field to host the 49ers on Sunday.
