BREAKING : Denzel Ward sets Browns record for most games with multiple deflections

As CB Denzel Ward covered WR Tre Tucker in the end zone, Ward jumped in front of Tucker to deflect the pass. Not only did Ward’s pass breakup keep the Raiders off the board, but Ward also set a new franchise record.

Ward recorded his second pass defensed against the Raiders and marked his 29th game in which he has had multiple pass deflections. Ward surpassed Joe Haden for the most games all time by a Brown with multiple pass deflections.

This season, Ward has recorded 31 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and six passes defensed through the first 10 games.

“He’s a guy that we’ve been blessed to be in the building. He’s a young guy that a lot of people respect, right? But he’s also a young guy that when his name has been called, he’s really been in position to take advantage of those throws and those opportunities for our team. […] He’s a trusted teammate as far as a communicator. So, I think that’s what we’re seeing this season, where they know where he’s at, right? He’s really in good position.”
