BREAKING NEWS :Rhamondre Stevenson expected to make comeback against Bengals

Rhamondre Stevenson injury update: What Patriots roster move means for RB's Week 12 status | Sporting News

The New England Patriots will have all available hands on deck against the Cincinnati Bengals, and that includes running back Rhamondre Stevenson. The 27-year-old is expected to make his comeback on Sunday after missing the previous three games because of a toe injury, according to multiple reports.

Stevenson started the Patriots first eight games of the season, carrying the ball 83 times for 279 yards with three touchdowns and three fumbles. He also caught 16 passes for 169 yards.

Ahead of the team’s Week 9 game versus the Atlanta Falcons, however, he popped up on the Patriots’ injury report. He ended up missing the next six practices before returning in limited capacity leading up to New England’s Thursday night contest against the New York Jets in Week 11. While still ruled out for that particular game on a short week, he has since taken another step forward.

Stevenson continued practicing in a limited capacity this week, and was eventually listed as questionable for the contest. What his workload will look like following his return will be seen, but his presence will improve New England’s running back depth and give the team a starter-level option alongside rookie TreVeyon Henderson and third-stringer Terrell Jennings.

Besides Stevenson, the Patriots had two other players listed on their final injury report for Week 12. Jahlani Tavai did not make the trip to Cincinnati for personal reasons, while outside linebacker Harold Landry is also questionable because of a knee ailment.

Kickoff between the Patriots and Bengals at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
