TheĀ Kansas City ChiefsĀ are fighting for their playoff life in Week 12 of theĀ NFLĀ season.

Kansas City enters the week with a 5-5 record, riding a two game losing streak. Before getting ready to play theĀ Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City suffered losses to theĀ Denver BroncosĀ and theĀ Buffalo Bills.

As they look to earn a victory in Week 12, head coach Andy Reid and his staff made a decision on the running back room.

The Chiefs gave running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire a standard elevation from the practice squad, making him eligible to play against the Colts in Week 12.

Edwards-Helaire will be playing his second game this season. He also received a handful of snaps in a previous matchup against the Bills.

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. He was taken by Kansas City after a successful college career with theĀ LSUĀ Tigers.

While he was featured early on in his tenure with the Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire wound up being cut from Kansas City, having played for the Chiefs from 2020 to 2024.

He spent part of the 2024 season with theĀ New Orleans Saints.

In 2025, Edwards-Helaire entered the season as a free agent and wound up agreeing to a practice squad deal with Kansas City.
