Bengals Injury Report: Further chatter around Joe Burrow spawns thanks to Tee Higgins’ post-practice comments

The Cincinnati Bengals wrapped up their second practice ahead of Week 12’s game against the New England Patriots, and everyone in the NFL is talking about who’s going to play quarterback for the orange and black.

Let’s take a look at the team’s second injury report of the week.

Bengals Thursday injury report

Player Injury W/T/F Designation
S Daijahn Anthony* Hamstring Full/Full
QB Joe Burrow* Toe Full/Full
WR Jermaine Burton Illness Full/Full
QB Joe Flacco Right Shoulder Limited/Limited
TE Mike Gesicki* Pectoral Full/Full
DE Trey Hendrickson Hip/Pelvis DNP/DNP
DT B.J. Hill NIR — Rest —/Limited
DE Cedric Johnson Ankle Limited/Full
DE Joseph Ossai Ankle Full/Full
HB Samaje Perine Ankle DNP/DNP
G Jalen Rivers Knee/Ankle DNP/Limited
DE Cam Sample Oblique DNP/DNP
CB Cam Taylor-Britt Foot DNP/DNP

Observations

  • Joe Burrow (toe) was a full participant in practice again for the second consecutive day. If there was any doubt about him being able to go full on back-to-back days just two months after turf toe surgery, he successfully erased it. Tee Higgins noted his quarterback looked good in practice as well, and feels like Burrow may very well play.

Cincinnati is unlikely to announce whether or not Burrow will be playing until the weekend, even if he were to go full on Friday as well. All of this could be preparing him to play Thanksgiving night next week against the Baltimore Ravens, but he’s on track to playing Sunday nevertheless.

  • Daijahn Anthony (hamstring) and Mike Gesicki (pectoral) were full participants once again. Both players, along with Burrow, are still on the Reserve/Injured list as of now.
  • Cedric Johnson (ankle) went full after he was limited Wednesday, and Jalen Rivers (knee/ankle) went limited after not practicing at all the day prior. Rivers has been the offense’s starting right guard since Week 4. Johnson would be set to play significant snaps as one of the first defensive ends off the bench once more after playing 29 last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Trey Hendrickson (hip/pelvis), Samaje Perine (ankle), Cam Sample (oblique), and Cam Taylor-Britt (foot) all remain out. Taylor-Britt is still on track for I.R. with a Linsfranc injury.

Observations

  • K’Lavon Chaisson (ankle), Harold Landry (knee) were each full participants after they were limited Wednesday with respective injuries. Christian Barmore, Morgan Moses, and Jahlani Tavai all went full after having half-days to start the week.
  • Austin Hooper (concussion), who’s going through the concussion protocol, was a full participant after he was limited Wednesday.
  • Rhamondre Stevenson (toe), who hasn’t played since Week 8, was the only Patriot limited Thursday. He was also limited Wednesday.
