BREAKING : Browns reuniting with wide receiver who Sheduer Sanders ‘has a comfort level with’

The Cleveland Browns are bringing back a wide receiver who showed a good connection with quarterback Shedeur Sanders during the preseason.

The Browns announced on Thursday they are signing wide receiver Kaden Davis to the practice squad. Davis was waived from the active roster a few days back.

As Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com notes, Sanders and Davis had a strong connection when the rookie played during the preseason.

As a result, she expects Davis to be active for Sunday, when Sanders makes his first NFL start against the Las Vegas Raiders in place of Dillon Gabriel, who is dealing with a concussion and is not expected to play.

“Browns have signed WR Kaden Davis back to the practice squad. Shedeur Sanders has a comfort level with him, so I expect him to be elevated for the Raiders game,” she wrote.

Sanders and Davis connected for a pair of touchdowns in preseason Week 1 and they likely have gotten a ton of work in together at practices considering Sanders hasn’t been getting first-team reps all year.

Giving Sanders someone he’s familiar with at wide receiver will help, but he still needs to get on the same page with guys like Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, David Njoku and Harold Fannin Jr.

Even Sanders admitted he needs to get more comfortable with Jeudy, and the same can be said for the rest of Cleveland’s top pass-catchers.

“I don’t think I played good,” Sanders said of his Week 11 performance. “I don’t think I played good at all. I think there’s a lot of things we need to look at during the week and go and just get comfortable with even throwing routes with [wide receiver] Jerry [Jeudy] and throwing routes with all those guys. I think that was my first ball to him all year. But other than that, I just think overall, we just got to go next week and understand, so that we have a week to prepare stuff I like to do.”

We’ll see how much Davis helps, and how much Sanders can connect with his best weapons when Cleveland meets Las Vegas on Sunday.
