TheĀ NFLĀ doesn’t care too much about how big your wins are. At the end of the day, wins and losses is what matters most. Point differential could play a role in tiebreakers, but it isn’t the main one. So despite theĀ Kansas City ChiefsĀ owning theĀ sixth-best point differential in the entire league, they are currently outside of the playoff picture.
Losses to theĀ Buffalo BillsĀ andĀ Jacksonville JaguarsĀ have the Chiefs on the outside looking in. Being 2.5 games back in theĀ AFC WestĀ isn’t helping matters, but there’s a lot of season left for Kansas City to make up ground. That starts this upcoming week in a road date against theĀ Denver Broncos, who are currently leading the division. This week,Ā the Broncos were dealt a brutal blow, whichĀ Patrick MahomesĀ and co. can take advantage of.
Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins out for the season with foot injury
Broncos running backĀ J.K. DobbinsĀ was placed onĀ Injured Reserve with a lisfranc injury that will require surgery. He’s set toĀ miss the rest of the regular season and possibly all of the playoffs. Dobbins was having a fantastic first season in Denver,Ā averaging 5.0 yards per carryĀ as the main early down back.
Dobbins was playing so well that second round rookie running backĀ RJ HarveyĀ could barely get on the field, surpassing 33% of the offensive snaps in only one game this season. Now,Ā Harvey will step into the featured role, withĀ Jaleel McLaughlinĀ andĀ Tyler BadieĀ backing him up.
Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins will be placed on injured reserve with a foot injury that requires surgery and likely end his season, per ESPN sources.

Denver losing a key player like Dobbins can only be good news for the Chiefs.Ā Kansas City needs all the help it can get in order for the Broncos to falter a few times before the end of the season. With anĀ 8-2Ā record, Denver has some margin for error and injuries.Ā But a Chiefs win on Sunday could shift everything.
