Why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Keeping Their Bye Week Plans Private

Why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Keeping Their Bye Week Plans PrivateTravis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are enjoying their bye week, with their next game against the Denver Broncos set for November 16. In past years, Kelce has spent the time off with his fiancée, Taylor Swift; during one bye week last year, they attended a Yankees game in New York City.

On the November 5 episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce’s brother, Jason, asked him about his plans or if he’d share anything about his “personal life.” Kelce laughed and shut the question down, saying, “No, no chance.”

So far, the Chiefs tight end has flown under the radar since his team’s last game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Swift was photographed in New York City on the Thursday before the game and again on Monday night, grabbing dinner with her friend Gigi Hadid. It’s unclear whether Kelce has joined her in the city, plans to later, or if they will meet somewhere else.

At this point, the couple will likely keep their exact plans for his week off to themselves. They have plenty on their plate though, as a source told Us Weekly on October 28 that they are actively wedding planning, and the outlet reported they are also hunting for their forever home.

Plans for their nuptials are “coming along,” the insider said. “They are both [very] involved, and Taylor thinks it’s cute that Travis wants to help.” The source added that they like having a low-key home life: “With both of their high-profile careers, it feels good to have simplicity and normalcy together.”

A second insider said they really unplug when they’re together, too: “They love to turn their phones off [and have] no distractions.”

Swift herself revealed her dream of a quiet life with Kelce in her The Life of a Showgirl song “Wi$h Li$t.” In the chorus, she sang: “I just want you / Have a couple kids / Got the whole block looking like you / We tell the world to leave us the f*** alone…and they do / Wow / Got me dreaming ’bout a driveway / with a basketball hoop / Boss up, settle down.”

She told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that Kelce showed her she could want that kind of future for herself: “When I met Travis, I started to feel a little bit like I could be a person who could have romantic whims and have these dreams.”

She added, “I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie Happy Gilmore, but he has this happy place where he goes into this utopia of this is exactly what he would want, and this is where he escapes to mentally in times of stress, pressure, anxiety, or chaos. And that chorus of that song is me just describing what my happy place is.”
