NFL trade deadline rumor: Browns plan is surprising as trade rumors flow - Yahoo Sports

With the Cleveland Browns on their bye week, fans have the opportunity to fill their days with other things. Some will start preparations for Thanksgiving and Christmas, others will get some final yard work done, and still others will just enjoy the game of football instead of worrying about their favorite team.

For the Browns organization, the NFL trade deadline being a couple of days away means there is no rest for the front office and coaches. We’ve all seen or heard the Myles Garrett and David Njoku rumors. Shedeur Sanders may have let on the team’s plan but a former Cleveland QB could also be an interesting trade option.

Browns fans may be enduring another rebuild this season, after what many believe was a tanking season to begin with, but fans are also hopeful to see the younger players get more of a chance the rest of the year. Trading away veterans would be one way to do that. Extending a few players would also help solidify Cleveland’s roster moving forward.

Now, according to Adam Schefter, the Browns’ rumors of trading players are less likely. Instead, the ESPN Insider believes GM Andrew Berry will be a buyer at the deadline:

… most sources believe that the Browns will be aggressive in acquiring players before the deadline.

The Browns do not sound inclined to trade tight end David Njoku, but they have been calling around the league, still looking to add quality young players to their roster.

When Berry was hired back in 2020, he made it clear that being aggressive was his top priority. He reiterated that when asked about tearing the roster down to the studs as an option. With another opportunity to reset the roster, this rumor indicates Berry will once again look to be aggressive in his decision-making.
