😱 Patrick Mahomes Finally Breaks Silence After Andy Reid’s Worrying Comment About His Injury! 🏈🔥

Mahomes responds after Reid expresses concern over Chiefs QB's injury scare

Patrick Mahomes is back to his best.

The irrepressible quarterback starred once again as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Washington Commanders 27-8 on Monday Night Football to claim their fifth victory in six games.

Mahomes completed 25 of 34 passes for 299 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

It goes without saying that Mahomes is crucial to everything the Chiefs do, so when he got up awkwardly after a play, alarm bells started ringing.

KC head coach, Andy Reid, quickly approached his quarterback to ask if he was okay in a moment that was captured by NFL cameras and posted on X.

“Did you hurt your leg?” Reid asked Mahomes.

“Nah, I was celebrating,” Mahomes responded.

“I was good. You didn’t see? I was doing the Chiefs Wave.”

The Chiefs Wave is a new celebration started by mercurial wide receiver Xavier Worthy that the rest of the team is fully embracing.

It’s essentially a mini dance, usually after a big play or touchdown, in which a player extends their arms in front of themselves and shakes their hands up and down at the wrist while pointed forward.

Reid didn’t even respond to Mahomes after he confirmed he was okay, as he seemingly breathed a sigh of relief.

A video of the interaction between the two went viral. Mahomes even reacted to the moment by reposting it on X with a series of laughing emojis.

Monday’s game was a night to remember for Mahomes as he played a crucial role in securing Travis Kelce’s history-making 83rd touchdown.

The larger than life tight end tied the record for the most total touchdowns in Chiefs history with running back Priest Holmes.

“I just cherish these moments, man, being able to play at Arrowhead,” Kelce said after Monday’s win.

“This place is special, man, and I love it here. In terms of the historical stuff, I’m still looking at the next game and the next catch and trying to get better.”

Mahomes, meanwhile, was full of praise for his teammate and restaurant co-owner.

“He’s just the true Chiefs’ Chief,” Mahomes told reporters of Kelce.

“He’s the guy that’s been here through the whole thing, being here with Coach [Andy] Reid the entire time. He helped set the culture of what it means to play for Coach Reid and for Kansas City. I was able to come in and have that guy to rely on.”

Injured Chiefs stars after Monday’s game

It wasn’t all good news for the Chiefs after Monday night’s win, as several players did get hurt.

Reid told reporters after the game that both RB Isiah Pacheco and LB Nick Bolton suffered injuries in the second half.

“I should have told you the injuries, because Pop’s one of those,” Reid said.

“(Isiah Pacheco) hurt his knee, and (Nick) Bolton likewise hurt his knee, so we’ll just see how they do as we go forward here.”

Fortunately for Big Red, the injuries are not thought to be serious.

The Chiefs would certainly do well to avoid any more injuries after rookie Omarr Norman-Lott suffered a season-ending injury in Week 7.
