Trey Hendrickson Injury Update Emerges Before Jets Game - Yahoo Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals, who are set to face the New York Jets on Sunday, were still able to secure a much-needed victory in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers despite the absence of star defensive end Trey Hendrickson. The four-time Pro Bowler was forced to miss the Steelers game due to a back/hip injury. Hendrickson sustained the knock in the first half of Cincinnati’s Week 6 loss to the Green Bay Packers and he ended up sitting out last Thursday’s 33-31 victory against the Steelers.

Hendrickson has been the anchor of the Bengals’ secondary, having already registered 15 combined tackles (10 solo) in his first six games of the season. The All-Pro DE also has 4.0 sacks and one forced fumble under his belt already.

Bengals Injury Report: Trey Hendrickson's game status is once again up in the air, 3 others doubtful vs. Jets - A to Z Sports

Hendrickson was a limited participant in the Bengals’ practice on Wednesday. The former Florida Atlantic Owls star ended up missing Friday’s practice entirely, which resulted in Hendrickson being listed as questionable to play against the Jets.

The good news for the Bengals is that Hendrickson is now expected to be available for Sunday’s matchup. This is according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.

“#Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson, who missed last week’s game with a hip injury, is good to go for Sunday, source said,” Rapoport reported on X.

Hendrickson should be back in the mix on Sunday, starting opposite linebacker Joseph Ossai.

The Bengals enter their Week 8 matchup with a 3-3 record against a Jets side that has yet to taste victory this season after seven games.

Cincinnati will host the game at Paycor Stadium, with kickoff scheduled at 1:00 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised on CBS.
