The Patriots signed outside linebacker Titus Leo to their 53-man roster from the Colts’ practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.
They now have an open spot on their 53-man roster after placing linebacker Curtis Jacobs (head injury) on injured reserve and releasing outside linebacker Ochaun Mathis.
Leo, 25, was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Colts out of Wagner. He hasn’t played in a regular season game since entering the NFL.
Mathis began the season on the Patriots’ practice squad and was signed to the active roster Oct. 29. Since that time, the Patriots claimed defensive end Yannick Ngakoue off waivers from the Ravens and have now signed Leo.
Jacobs has played in nine games this season and made two starts. The rookie linebacker was claimed off waivers from the Chiefs in August.
Leo joins Ngakoue, Anfernee Jennings, Keion White and Deatrich Wise among the Patriots’ edge defenders.
Cornerback Marco Wilson, who was waived by the Patriots on Monday, was claimed by the Bengals.
