Kansas City Chiefs DL Chris Jones looks ahead to Week 8 after minimal snaps vs. Raiders

Chiefs DL Chris Jones discusses Week 8 after minimal snaps vs. Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, during Friday’s press conference, reflected on the lower number of snaps against the Las Vegas Raiders in the dominant Week 7 victory.

“Life is good, man, I can’t complain. Mentally staying sharp (and) the body feels really, really good. Knock on wood,” said Jones, “But I feel really, really good heading into this week. We got a few guys banged up, got to get those guys healthy, but overall, I think we’re in good shape.”

The Chiefs’ All-Pro led an aggressive unit that pitched a shutout against Las Vegas, with Jones securing the lone sack on the day and only playing three quarters. He hopes to replicate that efficiency on Monday against the Washington Commanders.

“You look at the Commanders, they have a really, really, really well-rounded team. They have a lot of weapons, (Commanders WR) Deebo Samuel and (Commanders WR) Terry McLaurin, and the running backs, they got a double edge sword in the backfield,” said Jones, “The (Commanders) Offensive Coordinator Kliff (Kingsbury), he does a really good job of scheming. So, we got our hands full there. They have a veteran tight end who has been in the game a while, who is still very, very productive. So, we definitely got our hands full on trying to slow these guys down.”

The Raiders’ 30 offensive plays in Week 7 were the second-fewest by a team in the Super Bowl Era. Kansas City allowed just 95 yards across 10 possessions.
