Shedeur Sanders’ True Character Shines With Off-The-Field Announcement

We’re not sure if Shedeur Sanders will see the field this season for the Cleveland Browns, but he’s finding other ways to make an impact.

Sanders, the 144th overall pick from this year’s NFL Draft, completed 58.6% of his passes in the preseason for 152 yards with two touchdowns. He haas not yet played a snap for the Browns this regular season, but he was previously promoted to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart.

“I think he’s gotten more used to that, gotten up to speed, doing a nice job in his preparation and understanding what the game plan holds. And when he’s had his opportunities to go operate it, he’s done a nice job,” Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees said.

As of now, Sanders will remain the backup quarterback for the Browns. Fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel has been leading the first-team offense since October 5.

Making a difference off the field.

On Monday, Sanders announced that he’s hosting a car giveaway with Drive Point Auto Group. He shared this exciting news on Instagram.

“I was BLESSED to be a BLESSING! We’re Blessing somebody that’s deserving with a CAR in Cleveland and nearby cities,” Sanders wrote. “I’m looking for difference makers in the community so help me find that person that’s always looking out for others but deserves to be Blessed as well.”

Sanders has already shown love to Cleveland plenty of times this year. In July, he hosted a “Garden Valley Fun Fest” designed to help kids impacted by the explosion and fire at Rainbow Terrace Apartments.

Additionally, Sanders tried to get middle school students free tickets to Cleveland’s preseason games.

“I’m very excited. I want to find a way to get a lot of the high school and middle school kids free tickets to come to the game,” Sanders said in August, via Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland. “I don’t know how I’m going to do that. I didn’t talk to anybody about this. I just always had that thought. It’d be cool if we do it.”

Suffice to say, Sanders is using his platform the right way. As for his NFL career, it’s too early to tell when he’ll get his chance to start.
