The Green Bay Packers are set to face off against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon with hopes of continuing their newfound momentum following a Week 6 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, they may be without the services of star running back Josh Jacobs, who received a rather confusing update to his status on Saturday from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jacobs was able to practice in full on Friday after practicing in a limited fashion on Wednesday and Thursday, a signal that signs were pointing towards Jacobs being able to go.
Schefter cast some doubt on that possibility ultimately happening in his report on Saturday night, explaining how Jacobs will be a “true game-time decision” for Sunday’s game due to both a calf injury and an undiagnosed illness.

Further explaining how much of a “true game-time decision” Jacobs is, Schefter added that the team does not expect to know whether Jacobs will be able to play until Sunday.

Given how impactful Jacobs has been for Green Bay this season, this update on Jacobs should be worrying for Packers fans.
Thus far this season, Jacobs has been one of the best goal line threats in all of football, with six rushing touchdowns in the team’s five games, the second-most behind just Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor.
It’s unclear whether Jacobs’ calf injury or his illness is the bigger reason that his status is now in doubt for Sunday’s game. Either way, this news further adds to what has been a litany of factors going against the Packers leading up to the matchup.
Notably, the Packers had a significant delay in actually arriving in Arizona for the game due to mechanical issues with the team plane. This ultimately resulted in the team sitting on the tarmac for five hours before a replacement plane was finally brought in to take off from Green Bay.
