BREAKING : Green Bay Packers’ Veteran Stabilizing Offensive Line Woes

The Packers‘ offensive line has been a bit of a revolving door of sorts in recent weeks.

Despite injuries at tackle, and at center, Green Bay was to lean into its physicality late in last Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals, with Josh Jacobs powering his way to a season-high 93 rushing yards with a pair of touchdowns, seemingly getting stronger and more dominant late in the fourth quarter.

Elton Jenkins draws rave reviews from Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenovich

According to Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenovich, Elgton Jenkins’ steadiness up front at center has helped Green Bay weather the storm along the offensive line in recent weeks.

“He has,” Stenovich told reporters, when asked if Jenkins is hitting his stride at center. “He has. Yeah, he had a rough game a few weeks back, but he’s done a good job and he obviously has very high standards for himself, as we all have high standards for him because he’s a very good player. But it’s been fun to watch him own the center position, it’s been awhile since he’s kind of been in that role so it’s been good, to see him take control of that and he’s done a nice job.”

Jenkins, 29, has posted a fairly dominant 70.2 pass-protection grade from Pro Football Focus, as a top-15 player at the position, while only allowing one sack.

As the Packers continue to search for the right winning combination up front, Jenkins has become a solid veteran presence playing at a high level when Green Bay has needed it more.
