BREAKING NEWS : Packers searching for first road win against Cardinals

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers are going to be away from Lambeau Field for the next two weeks, starting with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The Pack is still looking to get its first win on the road this season.

The players are feeling the pressure to perform on the road so they can keep stacking wins. Packers safety Evan Williams said it’s easier to get into the flow of things at home, and they need to treat road games just like any other game at Lambeau Field.

“Getting your body ready for the game, getting your intensity ready for the game and just being process oriented,” said Evan Williams. “Trying to focus on those days before the game to do whatever you can for your body, do whatever you can, just to put yourself in the best spot, come game time. That’s all we can do as a team.”

The Cardinals are on a four-game losing streak, but packers head coach Matt LaFleur said his team will need to put together a complete game if they want to beat a tough Cardinals team.

“I think our guys understand that. I mean, we haven’t won on the road yet either,” said LaFleur. “We got to do a good job of preparing and getting ready to play our best ball. I don’t think we played a complete game up to date.”

For Packers cornerback Bo Melton, this road game means a little more. That’s because he will be playing against his brother Max, who is also a corner, and many of his family members will be there.

“My parents definitely got something they are going to surprise us. So I can’t wait to see them, that’s my biggest joy of all right now,” said Melton. “I just can’t wait to see my family together as one. That’s something I worked really hard for. I know that brings joy to my heart, for sure.”

The rookies on the team are still getting used to playing on the road. Packers wide receiver Savion Williams said he’s focused on making the most of every opportunity he gets.

“What our coach says all the time is just embrace your role and just fall in love with it,” said Savion Williams. “I just fell in love doing kick returns, so that’s what I’m doing and trying to help the team and set up the offense.”

The Packers will look to take care of business in Arizona. Following that game, they stay on the road, traveling to Pittsburgh where they will face former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the AFC North-leading Steelers.
