From the PUP list on October 6 to being a month away on October 13, Cleveland Browns veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson may return to on-field action sooner than expected. In an update shared by NFL Insider Adam Schefter via The Pat McAfee Show, Watson is reportedly a month away from being cleared for any football activity.

This news is significant for the Browns, especially since Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Tyler Huntley are gone, and rookie Dillon Gabriel is starting with Shedeur Sanders as backup. With these changes and a 1-5 season record—Deshaun Watson may be Cleveland’s only hope now at season revival.

Deshaun Watson is a month away from being cleared for any football activity

On The Pat McAfee show, McAfee asked, “We got Deshaun Watson coming back in a few weeks, what are they gonna do over there? Is there any word on that front?” NFL Insider Adam Schefter replied, “Yeah. He’s a good month away from being cleared for any football activity. He is enlisted…there hasn’t been any conversation about when or if he’ll play again, but I know there were some people last week that saw Joe Flacco being traded in a move that Tom(Mike Tomlin) might not approve of, apparently today…”

Joe Flacco’s trade to the Cincinnati Bengals disappointed Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin

Mike Tomlin was unhappy with Cleveland Browns VP and GM Andrew Berry for letting Joe Flacco slide to the Cincinnati Bengals.

When Pat McAfee asked NFL Insider, “What did he say?” Schefter shared, “He (Mike Tomlin) said that—Andrew Berry must be a lot smarter than me or us because it doesn’t make sense to trade a quarterback that you think enough of to make your opening day starter to a divisional opponent that’s hurting in that area, but that’s just my personal feeling.

”While Deshaun Watson’s return is about a month away, he is currently enjoying Gumbo Night with his wife Jilly Anais

While the veteran quarterback’s on-field return is about a month away, he is currently enjoying Gumbo Night with his beloved wife, Jilly Anais. This special evening was recently highlighted on social media. On October 14, Watson shared his wife Jilly’s IG story, which showed the NFL WAG stirring gumbo stew. Jilly captioned it: “Gumbo Night at the Watson Estate.” In his IG repost, Watson selected “Gumbo Love” by Terrace Martin ft.
