BREAKING NEWS: Packers’ Matt LaFleur Has ‘blatant’ Micah Parsons Message For NFL

Packers, Micah Parsons

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t hold back during his Monday press conference.

All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons’s frustration has been growing for years over the lack of holding calls that he has gotten from officials throughout his career, and his new head coach has seen enough.

Sunday afternoon in Green Bay’s 27-18 victory over Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals, Parsons was a virtual nonfactor, but the lack of holding calls flagged against Bengals’ offensive linemen when lined up against the Packers’ newest pass rusher did not sit well with LaFleur.

“Certainly, it’s frustrating when it’s blatant. Those should get called, right?” LaFleur told reporters. “But I do think there are some situations where there’s some close ones on us as well. I think as long as there’s consistency, that’s all you want. if you’re not going to call it one way, don’t call it the other.”

Both Parsons and the Packers believe that the missed calls in Sunday’s game were blatant, and that Cincinnati’s offense benefitted from the Bengals’ linemen being given the benefit of the doubt.

It will be interesting to see if LaFleur faces any fines for his comments and whether the officials in game in Arizona against the Cardinals call the game any differently — more in Parsons’ favor, after being called out this week.
