When Myles Garrett decided to sign a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Cleveland Browns in March, many questioned his desire to win a Super Bowl.

The Browns did not have a strong case for winning a Vince Lombardi Trophy at the time the superstar defensive end inked his latest deal. Through six games in the 2025 NFL season, the situation remains the same for Cleveland, which dropped to 1-5 after suffering a 23-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road on Sunday.

Just like in their previous losses, the Browns’ offense put up an underwhelming performance. Cleveland starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel mustered just 221 passing yards on 52 passing attempts, with zero touchdowns. Although Gabriel did not commit a turnover, he was sacked six times for a loss of 38 yards. On the ground, the Browns produced only 65 rushing yards on 17 carries.

Garrett has experienced a lot of losing with the Browns, who have gone to the NFL playoffs just twice since he entered the league in 2017.

Seeing his team lose over and over again in large part because their offense is bereft of firepower is seemingly taking a toll on the former No. 1 overall pick.

“It’s frustrating,” Garrett said during the postgame press conference (h/t Scott Petrak of The Chronicle Telegram), “To lose the same way every time, it’s frustrating as hell.”

But even the Browns’ defense didn’t shine against the Steelers. Garrett only had two total tackles with zero sacks and no quarterback hits. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sliced Cleveland’s stop unit for 235 passing yards and two touchdowns, while the Steelers’ offensive line kept him upright all game long.

The Browns, who won just a total of three games in 2024, are still stuck at the bottom of the standings in the AFC North with a 1-5 record. Meanwhile, the Steelers are atop the division with a 4-1 slate.

Garrett and the Browns will look to snap their three-game losing skid when they host the 1-5 Miami Dolphins in Week 7 at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.
