Detroit Lions injury updates vs Kansas City Chiefs or Sunday Night Football

Detroit Lions injury updates live vs Kansas City Chiefs on SNF

The injury list for the Detroit Lions is growing, but two big names are going to give it a go.

The banged-up Lions are facing off against the Kansas City Chiefs (2-3) on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET. The primetime matchup will be broadcasted on Sunday Night Football on NBC.

If this were a fully healthy Lions team facing off against a sub-.500 Chiefs team, oddsmakers (which currently have Kansas City as a slight favorite) might have favored Detroit. But with so many injured players, especially on the defensive side of the ball, the Lions might have a tough time keeping up with last year’s AFC champions.

The Lions have already ruled out offensive tackle Taylor Decker and defensive tackle Alim McNeill, looking to make his season debut, from tonight’s game. Additionally, the Lions will be without starting cornerbacks D.J. Reed and Terrion Arnold, with starting safeties Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch currently listed as questionable but not listed as out.

We’ll have live injury updates from tonight’s prime time game right here.

Lions inactives for Sunday Night Football vs Chiefs

The Lions have listed seven players as inactive for their upcoming game against the Chiefs.

  • CB Terrion Arnold.
  • LB Zach Cunningham.
  • OT Taylor Decker.
  • CB Avonte Maddox.
  • S Loren Strickland.
  • RB Sione Vaki.
  • DL Mekhi Wingo.

Crucially, the Lions have not listed safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph on the list, which means they are likely playing.
