BREAKING : 🚨 Last-Minute Shock! Omarr Norman-Lott Suddenly Added to Chiefs’ Week 5 Injury Report 😱 — What Happened?

The Kansas City Chiefs added a late entrant to the official injury list heading into Week 5. Defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott is dealing with a shoulder injury sustained during practice on Friday and was held out of practice on Saturday.

The Chiefs are practicing late in the week due to a primetime shift in the schedule to Monday Night Football in Week 5, which features a road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs wrapped up their week of practice on Saturday before heading to Florida for the game.

Norman-Lott has been designated as questionable for Week 5, which brings the team’s depth along the defenisve interior into question. As a second-round rookie, Norman-Lott is still learning the nuances of the position at the next level, but he’s become an important rotational cog at a position that’s been thin for years.

The Chiefs are likely to lean on Chris Jones more in Week 5 with Omarr Norman-Lott potentially out of Week 5.

Star defensive tackle Chris Jones’s usage rate has been problematic for the Chiefs in the last year, especially as he enters his thirties. Given his price tag, the Chiefs would be wise to keep Jones fresh for the stretch run with a strategic plan for his reps. Norman-Lott should be an important part of that plan, but without him, the Chiefs will likely depend on Jones a bit more than they’d like to disrupt Trevor Lawrence and company.

The Chiefs selected Norman-Lott late in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Tennessee, a defensive tackle who had the best pass-rush win rate in his class. So far, Norman-Lott has only played in 55 defensive snaps through 3 games after sitting out of Week 1.

The Chiefs also listed cornerback Kristian Fulton as questionable heading into Week 5, leaving the rest of the roster fairly healthy, with a couple of players to watch before the game on defense. The good news is that Mike Danna, defensive end, is scheduled to return after sitting out two games with a quad injury.
