BREAKING : 🔥 Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid Stands Firm on Jawaan Taylor 👀 — Despite Ongoing Struggles

Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid expresses confidence in Jawaan Taylor despite struggles - Yahoo Sports

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters before practice on Wednesday to share his thoughts on staying with Jawaan Taylor at right tackle through his ongoing struggles with penalties.

“When he doesn’t have the penalties, his percentage has been good, so you know, you could argue, he’s one of the better tackles in his pass protection game,” said Reid, so I’m conscious of that, and then I’ll take care of it from there.”

Taylor hasn’t statistically given up a sack this season and has only allowed three quarterback hits through the first three games of the season. Reid continues to defend Taylor’s role on the offensive line, although there have been calls from critics to insert offseason free agent signing Jaylon Moore in his spot.

The veteran offensive lineman is tied for the league lead with six penalties in three games for 45 yards, which includes two false starts and three holding infractions. Taylor is in the third year of a four-year, $80 million contract he signed in 2023. Last season, he battled through a partially torn meniscus that severely impacted his effectiveness on the offensive line.
