BREAKING : Parsons takes on his former team wearing green and gold

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers play the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night in Texas. Micah Parsons’ return will be the top storyline.

Parsons knows the Cowboys will be focused on him. He said that will just create opportunities for his Packers teammates.

“I got a great challenge in front of me,” said Parsons. “I know they’re not going to make it easy for me. I know that they got a plan for me. It’s not about me. If they focus too much on me, I got other guys, including Rashan, who’s dominant this year. We got a group of guys that they need to focus on. So I have that to my advantage.”

As impossible as it seems, Parsons is trying to treat this as just another game. Ironically, he still has a suite at AT&T Stadium.

“Once the game starts, who’s going to be worried about any trade?” said Parsons. “It’s just me against five men in front of me, you know what I mean? We’ve got one common goal, and that’s to win the football game. Dallas loves me. I think they’re going to give me a good round of applause. There’s no hard feelings there, at least for me. I think it’s going to be a great atmosphere.”

Parsons said he’s not worried about there not being a video tribute to him Sunday night, and it’s been a while since he talked to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

“I never even heard from Jerry Jones himself,” said Parsons. “When I even got traded, I found out through my agent. I haven’t talked to Jerry Jones since, like, OTAs. There’s a lot of things I can consider disrespectful throughout this process, but I wouldn’t say the tribute is one of them. There’s hard feelings maybe there for them, but, for me, I’m happy where I’m at. And we got a really good football team. I guess I can leave you my tribute in a win.”

Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said he’s not worried about Parsons trying to do too much.

He was also asked how Kenny Clark looks with the Cowboys.

”He looks really good,” said LaFleur. “Like I would expect. Like he did when he was here. I think Kenny’s a pro’s pro. I got so much respect for him, as much as anybody that I’ve been around in this game, in terms of just his approach, his team-first mentality, his willingness to help others and bring guys along. Wasn’t always the most vocal, but when he talked, everybody listened. And they listened for a reason, because everybody respected what he did.”
