Browns Star Trolls Packers After Upset

Cleveland Browns safety Grant Delpit delivered one of the game’s defining moments in the 13-10 win over the Green Bay Packers, later celebrating the victory on social media.

Delpit picked off Packers quarterback Jordan Love with the Browns trailing 10-3 in the fourth quarter. He returned his first interception of the season down to the Green Bay 4-yard line. The Browns scored moments later, with rookie running back Quinshon Judkins plunging in from 1-yard out to tie the game.

The Browns pulled off another massive play late, blocking the Packers’ go-ahead field goal attempt and winning it on a 55-yard kick from Andre Szmyt as time expired. After the win, Delpit took to Instagram to celebrate with photos and a clever caption.

“Getting (cheese), packed her up….. told her he green bae,” Delpit wrote as the caption.

It drew a viral reaction, with 10,000-plus likes and hundreds of comments, including from his teammates.

“Caption work,” injured Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah said.

Rookie receiver Isaiah Bond and cornerback Greg Newsome also weighed in with emojis, backing Delpit.

Browns Defense Shines Again in Win Against Packers

The Browns’ defense is quickly establishing itself as one of the NFL’s elite units. While the offense sputtered for much of the afternoon, the defense kept Cleveland in striking distance and ultimately gave them a chance to win.

Still, turnovers had been elusive. Delpit’s interception marked the first takeaway of the season for the Browns, a breakthrough moment that swung momentum. Love admitted afterward that he simply never saw Delpit lurking on the play.

“We were running a triple-snake concept and they were in man coverage,” said Jordan Love. “I’m trying to work [Dontayvion] Wicks right there, number two. The safety that was guarding Tucker [Kraft] fell off that, passed it off, and got in the window right there, and I didn’t see him. It’s a really tough play. Especially in the circumstances and timing of the game. It’s one we’ll have to learn from and move on.”

Browns Star Myles Garrett Confident in Defense

The defense is led by Myles Garrett, who had six tackles, a half-sack and a tackle for loss in the victory. He’s confident that the unit still has room to grow.

“I think we can be as dominant as we want, so we see what we know we can do. As long as we stick together, don’t worry about the scoreboard, execute what we know we can do, and be where we are supposed to be,” Garrett said after the win. “We have talent on every part of the field, so as long as we keep our heads up, don’t worry about the noise, what’s going on around us, we can be the very best.”

The Browns moved to 1-2 after the win. They still have some issues but finally have some momentum they can try to ride.

“I think it helps give belief, reason and focus. Guys continue to still fight, push towards this goal that we have and getting gritty wins like that make you realize what it’s all for, how much you can really build and achieve if you keep on chipping away,” Garrett said. “I think that’ll allow us to understand what we really have in our room, in our building. And just keep on grinding.”

The Browns head to Detroit next week to take on the Lions.
