BREAKING : Five Player Props to tail as Browns battle Packers

Five top player props for Cleveland Browns Green Bay Packers game

While the Cleveland Browns suffered a defeat against the Baltimore Ravens, readers of this column took home some money as we went three for five last week.

The Browns’ negative game script helped our bets that focused on the Browns airing the ball out. While Joe Flacco didn’t have the yardage we were hoping for, he was able to throw the ball a lot of times, clearing the line on his pass attempts. Browns running back Dylan Sampson was the target of a few of those throws and cashed his line of two and a half receptions. Unfortunately, wide receiver Cedric Tillman has struggled catching the ball this season. While he had enough opportunities to pass his yardage line, he couldn’t haul in the targets.

Meanwhile, the Browns’ defense continues to suffocate opposing offenses. The Browns completely shut down Rashod Bateman, scoring us our third win. This week, we’re looking to repeat our good fortune. The Green Bay Packers are one of the best teams in the NFL. The Browns didn’t get any luck with this schedule, as they started with some of the best teams in the NFL. The Browns are eight-and-a-half-point underdogs as they host the Packers.

The markets believe the Browns generally have no chance of winning the game. I believe our props should lean into this prediction. We should focus on betting on the Browns’ passing offense and hope that a high volume will lift all passing props. We should also focus on the Packers being run-heavy once they establish a solid lead and bet against their passing attack. Following this strategy, here are my five favorite props against the Packers.

BetMGM provides all lines.

Joe Flacco over 38.5 attempts -115

To kick things off, we’re starting with one of our most reliable bets. Just like head coach Kevin Stefanski, we’ll be putting all of our faith in Joe Flacco. Stefanski trusts Flacco as a decision maker, and he’s letting the cagey veteran be the gunslinger he always was. Flacco has hit his attempted overs in every game this season. Flacco easily cleared his 38.5 attempts last week, which included an early benching.

All of the conditions for Flacco to pass the ball a lot will be in play as the Browns face the Packers. The Packers have one of the best teams in the NFL. The Browns will have to pass the ball a lot to keep up with the Packers’ offense. The Packers have had a deadly pass rush since acquiring Micah Parsons. Meanwhile, Flacco is a smart pocket passer who knows he must get rid of the ball when he feels threatened. Since we’re targeting pass attempts, we’ll welcome any throwaway passes. Flacco’s passing attempts should be bet on frequently before the veteran quarterback is benched for rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

Harold Fannin Jr. over 33.5 receiving yards -115

The Green Bay Packers have a great defense. They do a great job of shutting down the outside of the field and funneling the offense to the middle of the field. Tight ends have had the most production against the stout Packers’ defense. Packers’ opponents, tight ends Zach Ertz and Sam LaPorta, have been their respective team leaders in receiving yards. The Browns should continue that streak as their tight end duo of Harold Fannin Jr. and David Njoku are their two most talented pass catchers.

Books have both of their lines the same, but I would bet on whoever has the better line if you can find it. Both tight ends are prominent features in the Browns’ offense. Fannin has received a lion’s share so far, but Njoku is getting more targets in every game. Both players have gone over 33.5 yards in every game this season. If the Browns beat the Packers, it’ll be because of the playmaking of Fannin and Njoku.

Quinshon Judkins over 42.5 rushing yards

The Cleveland Browns have handed second-round pick Quinshon Judkins the reins since he joined the team following a domestic dispute allegation. Judkins was a late addition, but the Browns are trying to get him up to speed with game reps. Judkins started against the Baltimore Ravens, recording 61 yards in a loss. The Browns want to see what they have with the rookie running back. He should get plenty of opportunities against the Packers.

The Packers have a stout run defense, and it’s hard for teams to move the ball on them. The Packers do an excellent job of playing with light boxes to invite the run in before their second-level defenders swoop down to snuff out the run. The Packers are a smart, fast, and hard-hitting defense. The Browns must run the ball against the Packers to keep their aggressive defense honest. Judkins is an angry runner who breaks a lot of tackles. He has a big-play threat that other Browns’ running backs don’t. Judkins is also a rushing threat in garbage time. The Browns finished the Ravens’ game by running the ball on four plays in their seven-play touchdown drive. Judkins will have a full 60 minutes to get over 42.5 rushing yards.

Jordan Love under 219.5 passing yards -115

Jordan Love is a young, talented franchise quarterback. The quarterback is trying to prove that he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. That title is won by week-to-week consistency. Consistency is where Love struggles. It’s hard to be a surgical pocket passer over 50 plays a game for half a year.

It’s the most physically and mentally taxing job. Love will eventually get there, but his journey could take a few more years. The Browns’ defense should harass Love all game. The Packers don’t have an explosive passing attack. If their receivers break free, they get run down. The quarterback should struggle to pass the ball well against the Browns.  The Packers will likely get conservative once they get the lead and run the clock down. Love shouldn’t get too many opportunities to pass the ball against the Browns’ defense. He’ll have a tough time getting to 220 yards.

Dontayvion Wicks under 34.5 receiving yards -115

The Packers have a solid group of receivers, without a clear alpha in the room. Their wide receivers have been stricken with injuries, consolidating the opportunities for their remaining receivers.

Wicks is one of those beneficiaries. Wicks is a talented receiver, but he struggles to catch the ball. He’s not a reliable receiver, and he doesn’t see targets that often. Wicks is primarily playing on the outside due to injuries to their starting receivers. He’ll have hard matchups against Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome II. The two cornerbacks should blanket him all game. It’ll be hard for Wicks to get at least the three catches he needs to gain over 34 yards. The Packers will likely focus their pass game through tight end Tucker Kraft and receiver Romeo Doubs.

The Browns should shut down Wicks easily.
