BREAKING: Packers can turn Browns’ Shedeur Sanders whispers into an undeniable roar

The Green Bay Packers have already registered a seismic impact on the hypothetical quarterback stock market.

Jordan Love’s stock is soaring to stardom after masterfully leading the Packers’ offense in the team’s 2-0 start. He has four touchdowns, no interceptions, and a phenomenal 120.0 passer rating to his name.

It’s not just the Packers’ QB1, though. The new-look, Micah Parsons-led defense has caused other stocks to plummet. Jared Goff needed a date with the Chicago Bears to restore confidence after how pedestrian the Packers made him look.

Many have questioned whether Jayden Daniels has entered a sophomore slump after struggling to solve the Packers’ defensive puzzle.

Then there is Joe Flacco. His arrow is pointing downward, and a Week 3 matchup against this Packers defense may send his stock crashing to zero.

Packers could force Browns into a difficult QB decision in Week 3

Whispers are growing louder for the Browns to make a quarterback change after Flacco threw for 489 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in an 0-2 start. Cleveland enters Week 3 with the league’s No. 1-ranked defense, but Flacco hasn’t managed to make it count on offense.

If the veteran endures a similar nightmare to Goff and Daniels against Green Bay’s suffocating defense, Cleveland may have no choice but to consider a change.

Dillon Gabriel is the QB2, but many Browns fans believe it’s time for Shedeur Sanders to get an opportunity. That includes legendary TV host Steve Harvey.

“I am praying to god that Shedeur gets an opportunity to show what he really can do,” he told The Pivot Podcast.

Many viewed Sanders as a first-round talent entering the 2025 NFL Draft, making his surprising fall to the fifth round so surprising. And it looked even more puzzling after Sanders impressed in the preseason, throwing for 152 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions for a 95.8 rating.

The longer Flacco struggles, the louder the calls for Sanders to play will grow. And the Packers may accelerate that in Week 3.

It’s not all on Flacco. He stands behind a shaky offensive line. Per PFF, left tackle Dawand Jones has allowed eight pressures in two games for a pass-blocking grade of just 43.0. Cleveland hopes to get right tackle Jack Conklin back in this game, but if not, it’ll be Cornelius Lucas, who has given up 10 pressures.

That’s like music to the ears of Micah Parsons and Rashan Gary and Devonte Wyatt, who have registered a combined 30 pressures and six sacks already this season.

Pressure Flacco, and it’s game over. He has an awful PFF passing grade of 29.7 under pressure this season — only Bo Nix ranks lower. When pressured, he has completed just 13 of 31 passes for 134 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

Cleveland’s offense is averaging 16.5 points per game, tied for the league’s fifth-worst. And that came against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that allowed 27 points the following week, and a Baltimore Ravens unit that gave up 41 points in its other contest.

Now, the Browns get a Packers defense that held the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders to a combined 31 points.

It’s a mismatch. If it plays out as many expect, Flacco’s stock may plummet to zero. The Browns would likely turn to Gabriel in that scenario, but the whispers calling for Sanders will inevitably become an undeniable roar.
