Not long before the 2025 NFL regular season began, the Green Bay Packers put the league on notice by trading for three-time All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons. They sent Kenny Clark and two future first round picks to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for Parsons, who had demanded a trade earlier in the offseason as talks between him and Jerry Jones broke down.

Prior to the trade, Parsons and the Cowboys had cited a back injury as the reason the four-time Pro Bowler did not participate in training camp. Many, though, felt that it was a fake injury that was used as a mask to hide the true nature of their negotiations.

But after the trade, well, it was revealed that Parsons did indeed have a sprained back. While he has been able to play in each of Green Bay’s first two games, he has not played as many snaps as one would normally expect.

That, however, should change.

Due to his back injury, Parsons has been on Green Bay’s injury report prior to each of their first two games of the season. On Wednesday, the Packers released their first injury report ahead of their Week Three tilt with the Cleveland Browns, and it is a lengthy one, with eight players listed.

But Parsons is not one of them.

Jordan Love is still on the injury report due to the left thumb injury that he sustained in the preseason. That has not, however, affected his performance. Jayden Reed, as expected, was on the report with his broken collar bone and Jones fracture, two injuries on which he had surgery earlier this week.

The good news is that each Packers player listed, aside from Reed, was at least a limited participant in practice.

The better news is that Parsons’ name is nowhere to be found.

In two games this season, the former Cowboys star has played just 57% of the defensive snaps. Still, he has 1.5 sacks and is among the NFL leaders in pressures.

Now that his back is no longer an issue, and if Green Bay feels that he can play more snaps after easing him along, Parsons could be unleashed completely against the Browns and their 40-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco.

Of course, this could result in a big day for the Packers defense as a whole.
