A couple of teams that need to make sure they don’t fall too far back in the NFC North standings early on share the field on Sunday, Sept. 14 when the Chicago Bears visit the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit.
This NFL game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on FOX. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DirecTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial as well as up to $30 off your first month. SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available for streaming the game, and NFL+ airs all local market games, and NFL+ Premium allows fans to watch condensed game replays and all-22 coaches film.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson was the offensive coordinator for the Lions for the past two seasons, so there is sure to be a compelling strategical matchup in this game. Chicago is on a short week after playing on Monday Night Football to close out Week 1. The game started strong for quarterback and 2024 No. 1 pick Caleb Williams, but things fell apart after early success, and the Bears saw themselves on the wrong end of a fourth quarter comeback as they lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 27-24.
Detroit is coming home after a surprising 27-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers to open the season. After having one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL last season, backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combined for just 44 yards on 20 attempts on the ground and 14 catches for 49 yards in the passing game.
