BALTIMORE — The Browns are staring at the kind of start that doesn’t normally happen under head coach Kevin Stefanski.
An 0-2 start has never occurred in Stefanski’s previous five seasons in Cleveland. That’s the kind of start they could be looking directly at if they can’t spoil the home opener — and 30th season celebration — of the Baltimore Ravens.
Both the Browns and Ravens sit at 0-1 after one-point losses that could’ve easily been wins. Both know the history of NFL teams that start 0-2 trying to make the playoffs, that it’s less than 12% all time.

Cleveland Browns result in Week 1
Cleveland dropped a 17-16 decision at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kicker Andre Szmyt missed a third-quarter point-after kick, then a 36-yard field goal with 2:22 remaining to aid in the loss. Joe Flacco had two interceptions on passes that bounced off his own wide receivers’ hands. The Cleveland defense limited Cincinnati to 141 net yards, including minus-18 in the fourth quarter.
Baltimore Ravens result in Week 1
The Ravens dropped a 41-40 decision on the road against the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park, N.Y. Baltimore led 40-25 with 3:56 remaining, but the Bills scored the final 16 points to win the game. Buffalo’s Matt Prater kicked a 32-yard field goal as time expired for the win.
