BREAKING : 🚨 Chiefs Drop Concerning Xavier Worthy Injury Update 😱 | What It Means Before Eagles Rematch 🦅

Chiefs offer worrying Xavier Worthy injury update ahead of Eagles rematch imageWhen Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy was forced to exit the Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a dislocated shoulder, many were fearful of the speed merchant being lost for the season.

But fears were eased when it was revealed Worthy was seen as day to day in the build-up to Kansas City’s Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, so there was some hope Xavier could suit up.

However, it appears things might be now trending in the wrong direction for Worthy and fellow receiver Jalen Royals, who are both dealing with injuries, if Andy Reid’s words are anything to go by.

“Both are doing better, they’re working on it and making progress, but not ready to go,” Reid said.

So, the pair didn’t practice on Tuesday, and that puts their status against the Eagles in serious doubt. Still, in Worthy’s case, a dislocated shoulder can be a lingering injury that sometimes needs surgery to correct.

But is that in the Chiefs’ line of thinking?

“No, not right now,” Reid added.

Chiefs’ offense already feeling stretched against the Eagles

Last season, the receiver room got bitten badly by the injury bug, and now, as we look ahead to Week 2, Kansas City will likely face the defending champions without Worthy, and we also have to remember that Rashee Rice is also out.

So that is two key weapons Patrick Mahomes will be without, and with the possibility of a 0-2 start, the Chiefs could be rather wobbly to begin the year.

Of course, if there is one quarterback who can overcome the loss of key players, it’s Mahomes, but he can only do so much, and it will be up to Marquise Brown, Travis Kelce, and Juju Smith-Schuster to carry the load against Philadelphia.

Worthy doesn’t seem to be a long-term injury, but short-term? It appears the Chiefs need all the help they can get.
