REPORT: Bengals offensive lineman ‘not expected’ to play on Sunday Night Football

Bengals Star Orlando Brown Jr. Not Expected to Play Against Chargers on Sunday Night Football

The Cincinnati Bengals will once again be shorthanded along the offensive line Sunday, according to an NFL insider.

NFL.com’s Rapoport posted to social media early Sunday morning that Bengals offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr., while listed as questionable, is not expected to play Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Brown is dealing with knee and fibula injuries.

Brown has missed each of the last two weeks due to the injuries. Through the first six weeks of the season, Brown had played every offensive snap for the Bengals.

In Week 7, against Cleveland, Brown played just 33% of snaps (18) and in Week 8, Brown played in 50% (19) before leaving the game in the first half due to a knee injury.

When asked about Brown’s availability for Sunday night on Friday, head coach Zac Taylor said “we’ll see.”

The Bengals are expected to get back a key offensive piece Sunday night, however, as wide receiver Tee Higgins is expected to play after sustaining a quad injury in practice several weeks ago.

Higgins has missed the team’s last three games.

The Bengals and Chargers will end Sunday’s slate on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. You can watch the game on WLWT.
