Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to be viewed as one of the best players in the league. He may not have the top spot this year, but his “NFL Top 100” program selection was certainly earned after what he considers a down year.
The No. 5 ranking is high for most players, but they don’t have the standards Mahomes has set for himself since entering the NFL. His peers’ acknowledgment proves that Mahomes is still an elite talent amongst a crowded and talented group of AFC quarterbacks.
The two-time league MVP led the Chiefs to a 15-2 record last season and went undefeated at Arrowhead Stadium. Their third consecutive AFC Championship and appearance in the Super Bowl fell short of making history and being the first team to three-peat.
Mahomes ended 2024 with 3,928 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Last season was his first as a starter without 4,000 passing yards.
Produced by NFL Films, the NFL Top 100 will feature three to five-minute episodes highlighting the league’s top 100 players, voted on exclusively by current NFL players.
