Report: Bengals fortify offensive line, sign veteran guard Dalton Risner

The Cincinnati Bengals are adding to their offensive line ahead of the 2025 regular season.

The team made it official Thursday, announcing they have agreed to a deal with guard Dalton Risner. The terms of the contract were not reported.

Risner, who hasn’t allowed a sack across the last two regular seasons, was present at practice on Thursday.

A native of Missouri, the 30-year-old Risner played college football at Kansas State and was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.Risner was a durable presence on the offensive line for the Broncos during his four seasons with the team, starting 62 games from 2019-22.

Risner signed with the Minnesota Vikings in September 2023 and played with them for two seasons before becoming a free agent at the end of the 2024 season.

Risner played only 10 games in 2024 but was a solid pass blocker when on the field, ranking 13th among guards in Pro Football Focus’ pass blocking grade metric. He ranked 96th in run blocking grade.

In their initial 53-man roster released Tuesday, the Bengals listed eight offensive linemen on the team: Orlando Brown Jr., Amarius Mims, Jalen Rivers, Ted Karras, Dylan Fairchild, Cody Ford, Lucas Patrick and Matt Lee.
