New England Patriots release wide receivers Bourne, Baker

 

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —

One day after cutting the roster down to 53 players, the New England Patriots dropped two wide receivers and replaced them with new players claimed from other teams.

Veteran wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and 2024 NFL Draft pick Javon Baker were released Wednesday.

Bourne, 30, spent the last four seasons with New England. He previously played with the San Francisco 49ers. Last season, he had 28 receptions in 12 games.

Baker, 23, played in 11 games last season. He had one reception and returned three kickoffs.

Also Wednesday, the Patriots claimed quarterback Tommy DeVito, 27, from the New York Giants and cornerback Charles Woods, 25, from the Los Angeles Rams.
