KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Chiefs will have to cut their 90-man training camp roster down to 53 ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
Here’s a thread with the latest reports and news ahead of the deadline:
Monday 2:52 p.m.: The first move of the Chiefs clears up one of the questions surrounding Kansas City’s practice squad. With the NFL allowing teams to activate a quarterback from the practice squad each week as an emergency in case of multiple QB injuries, Kansas City has waived Bailey Zappe, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.

Zappe was demoted from third-string quarterback during the Chiefs’ preseason opener to fourth-string quarterback during the second and third games. His waiver could set the stage for Chris Oladokun to be the Chiefs’ third quarterback for the 2025 season.
Sunday: On Sunday, the Chiefs traded late-round picks with the New York Jets to help reacquire defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi.
The swap of sixth and seventh-round picks to acquire Nnadi mirrored a deal earlier in the week that swapped similar round picks to send wide receiver Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers, clearing up some of the defensive line and wide receiver rooms.
