On August 5, NFL Insider Adam Schefter informed cyberspace that the Cleveland Browns were signing quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley. Just 19 days later, on August 24, Ryan Gaydos of Fox News reported that the Browns announced Huntley’s release.

The Browns had previously signed Huntley to their practice squad. Ahead of the NFL’s roster deadline at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, the Browns have trimmed their quarterback room down to four players now: Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders.

The Cleveland Browns’ recent roster move regarding their quarterback, Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, sparked an online frenzy. One fan sarcastically commented, “Browns QB room so elite they cut a Pro Bowler.”

Another directly contrasted rookie Shedeur Sanders with veteran Tyler Huntley, stating, “Wow, not deserved at all. Shedeur definitely should have been let go before Huntley, who brings valuable experience and insight to the QB room. What does Shedeur bring? An overpriced necklace?” A third fan simply pointed out, “Released the wrong QB.”

Being cut within 19 days of signing might have stung like nothing else. One fan labelled it an “epic fail and humiliation,” while another called it “crazy.”

A third fan inquired, “So what is the whole point of signing him?” A fourth fan reiterated the sentiment, saying, “What a waste of time for the Browns and him.”

A fifth fan attempted to explain the Browns’ decision and predicted Huntley’s next stop: “#Browns released their best QB, keeping both rookie QBs, & a vet that’s hasn’t even had a snap in the preseason. Snoop Huntley will be backup at Ravens.”

Fans want Baltimore Ravens to bring Tyler Huntley home

In April 2020, the Baltimore Ravens signed Tyler “Snoop” Huntley as an undrafted free agent.

He debuted against the Jacksonville Jaguars and won by a riveting score of 40-14. Huntley played three seasons for the Ravens through 2023.The Cleveland Browns signed him in March 2024 and released him on August 29, 2024, after a trade failed to materialize. The next day, the Ravens signed him to their practice squad as their third-string quarterback.

On September 16, 2024, the Ravens signed him off their practice squad, and he joined the Miami Dolphins as the backup quarterback to starter Tua Tagovailoa.

In Week 17 of the 2024 season, Tagovailoa was injured, and Huntley took his place. The Dolphins went on to defeat the Browns with a refreshing score of 20-3!

On August 5, 2025, the Browns signed Tyler Huntley. He was competing for a 53-man roster spot against rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett, who was newly acquired from the Super Bowl LIX champions(Philadelphia Eagles).

Given this competition, it’s no wonder fans expressed a burning desire for the Baltimore Ravens to reacquire him.

One commented, “@Ravens bring him home,” while another simply said, “He should go back to the Ravens.” A third fan speculated, “He’s gonna go back to the Ravens after learning the Browns playbook.” A fourth fan suggested a specific role at the Ravens, “@Ravens bring him back for qb3.”

A fifth fan even proposed a replacement for a current Raven, “@Ravens pick him up and drop Leary.” Devin Leary is a 2024 NFL Draft’s sixth-round, 218th overall pick of the Baltimore Ravens. Leary was signed to the Ravens’ practice squad in August 2024, and in July 2025, they signed him to the Reserve/Future Contracts list.
