The Kansas City Chiefs will be without rookies Omarr Norman-Lott and Jalen Royals in their preseason finale against the Chicago Bears on August 22.

Norman-Lott and Royals were selected by Kansas City in the second and fourth rounds of the 2025 NFL draft, respectively, and are both expected to compete for playing time with the Chiefs this season.

Among the other players who will be sidelined for the exhibition tilt are tight end Jake Briningstool, linebacker Jack Cochrane, offensive lineman Ethan Driskell, and defensive backs Mike Edwards and Nazeeh Johnson.

News about Kansas City’s latest injuries was posted to Twitter by Arrowhead Pride Editor-in-Chief Pete Sweeney:

While injuries are to be expected during the preseason, Norman-Lott and Royals could have benefited from the extra playing time against Chicago before their official regular-season debuts.

Stay tuned to see if the rookies will be able to get healthy in time to participate in Kansas City’s Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paolo, Brazil, next month.
