BREAKING : Packers’ Jordan Love is the most polarizing quarterback in the NFL

New York Jets v Green Bay Packers - NFL Preseason 2025

Jordan Love has led the Green Bay Packers to back-to-back postseason appearances since taking over under center for Aaron Rodgers ahead of the 2023 season. He has appeared in 32 games over that span, throwing for 7,548 yards, 57 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions while completing 63.7 percent of his pass attempts.

He enters the season tied with Jalen Hurts and Justin Herbert for the sixth-best MVP odds, trailing only Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Jayden Daniels. While each of those players ranked as a top-nine quarterback in a poll from The Athletic, the Packers’ star was ranked just 13th — falling between Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy.

Heading into his third season as a starter, it appears that front office executives and coaches remain split on where Love falls. While he received plenty of praise, there were others who viewed things differently.

Packers’ Jordan Love receives mixed reviews in latest QB rankings

Love has continued to prove his naysayers wrong. However, the consensus appears to remain split on his upside. In the latest poll from The Athletic, Love was among the most polarizing quarterbacks. One executive praised him, one coach believed his weapons made him look good, while another blamed the offense for holding him back. Love divides opinions.

One quote from a defensive coach stood out:

“When we played them, I was like, ‘Man, this ball is going downfield — he don’t give a s—,” the coach said. “You don’t see a lot of quarterbacks play like that these days. It’s almost like they build it into their offense and see the benefits of making you defend the whole field and hitting a couple in exchange for a pick or two.”

Green Bay’s starting quarterback has faced plenty of criticism throughout his career — going all the way back to draft day when many questioned the franchise’s decision to select him in the first round. He has continuously played at a high level, but in order to truly prove his doubters wrong, Love will need to take the next step in the postseason.

He is just 1-2 in three career playoff starts. Meanwhile, he has thrown for just 678 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 64.8 percent of his pass attempts. Over his last two postseason games, he has thrown for two touchdowns and five interceptions.

Despite his learning curve in the postseason, it is difficult to look at Love and conclude that there are 12 quarterbacks who are better.
