Packers Predicted To Select 10-TD WR in 2026 NFL Draft With Multiple Playmakers’ Future Uncertain

Packers Predicted To Select 10-TD WR in 2026 NFL Draft With Multiple Playmakers' Future Uncertain

The Green Bay Packers invested a first-round pick in a wide receiver for the first time since 2002 by selecting Matthew Golden in this year’s draft. The move excited fans who had long been calling for a higher-caliber target to help Jordan Love thrive in the passing game.

And the investment likely won’t stop there. With lingering uncertainty in the wide receiver group, the Packers are expected to target another wideout within the first three rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft as they continue to refresh the position and add short-term explosiveness to the offense.

Packers Predicted To Pick WR Josh Cameron in 2026 NFL Draft

The Packers’ offense is one of the toughest to evaluate in the NFL. On paper, it features plenty of talent, but what it lacked in 2024 was a clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver to lead a group full of similarly skilled players.

To address that issue, the team drafted Golden to turn him into a true WR1, allowing Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson to thrive in complementary roles, which suits their skill sets better. However, none of the three is guaranteed to remain with the team beyond 2025.

Reed spent all of last season frustrated with his role in the offense, Doubs has been frequently involved in trade rumors, and Watson continues to struggle with injuries. Like Doubs, Watson is also entering the final year of his contract. That opens the door for a player like Baylor’s Josh Cameron in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Cameron had a breakout year in 2024, catching 52 passes for 754 yards and 10 touchdowns, his most productive season in four years of college football. Heading into his fifth and final year, he’ll look to cement his draft stock before potentially declaring.

In PFSN’s latest three-round mock draft, Cameron was projected to be selected by the Packers with the 87th overall pick. The move would give Green Bay insurance against the possible departures of Doubs and Watson and allow the offense to take a more structured shape.

Golden brings vertical speed and is expected to become the go-to target. Reed offers versatility with the ability to line up in the backfield and execute jet sweeps. Cameron could serve as a more traditional target for Jordan Love, giving the quarterback a well-balanced trio of weapons.

For Love to finally achieve the consistency that has eluded him since becoming a starter, he’ll need reliable targets. After two up-and-down seasons, a more defined receiver corps could be the key to unlocking his full potential.
