Bengals, Shemar Stewart agree to contract, end holdout

The Cincinnati Bengals and Shemar Stewart have agreed on contract language that ends the most notable holdout of the 2025 NFL draft class.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Stewart “got improved payout language can now get on the field.”

Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported that the Bengals get the specific language they want in the contract, while Stewart gets more money from the signing bonus earlier.

The Bengals reportedly asked Stewart to be the first to reset contractual language around the voidance of guarantees, which the No. 17 pick’s reps balked at until both sides reached a compromise.

Stewart can now report to training camp and get reps as he prepares for a role in the rotation and the Bengals can turn their contract attention to Trey Hendrickson.
