BREAKING NEWS: Eagles fans can only laugh as Cowboys’ RB gamble is already backfiring

Music to our ears.

It’s truly a shame when Philadelphia Eagles fans hear chaos brewing with the Dallas Cowboys (100% sarcasm there).

Eagles fans will be delighted to hear that the Cowboys’ running back situation has hit an interesting wall. The “Locked on Cowboys” podcast recently spoke with former Cowboys coach Glenn “Stretch” Smith, who shared some bad news about their fifth-round pick, running back Jaydon Blue.

“Smith said that coaches with the Cowboys have expressed that Blue is “borderline lazy” and that the team is not thrilled with his work habits,” The Landry Hat’s Marcus Mosher said in his recent article. “That isn’t a great sign for a fifth-round pick who is not only trying to earn a role on the offense, but also make the roster.”

Couldn’t be a better report to hear for the Eagles entering 2025

Jerry Jones: Breaking News, Rumors & Highlights | Yardbarker

Dallas’ running back situation is already on shaky ground with Javonte Williams and former Eagles Miles Sanders competing for the starting job. The hope was probably that Blue would break out and be the future back on the team. That doesn’t appear to be the case.

Jerry Jones’ team can keep trying to figure out how to replace Rico Dowdle, but the Eagles aren’t going to be fazed by it. Philly had the number one overall defensive unit in the league, allowing 278.4 yards per game, and 10th against the run with 104.2 yards allowed per game.

It helps to have guys like Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Moro Ojomo on the line to help make the stop. Oh, and having a Pro Bowl and All-Pro linebacker, Zack Baun, helps as well.

What was an already messy situation in Dallas just got worse with a draft pick who is on his way to bust status. It’s something that is not going to help the Cowboys, who missed the postseason last year, but is music to the ears of the Eagles.

The Cowboys won’t have to wait long to test their new backfield against the Eagles, as Dallas will head to Philly in Week 1 as they sit there and ponder their running back mistakes while soaking in the Eagles’ Super Bowl banner reveal in Lincoln Financial Field.
