The Dallas Cowboys have an interesting decision to make when it comes to the rest of the team’s offseason. The biggest issue facing the franchise is still the future of star pass rusher Micah Parsons. It wouldn’t be a true Dallas offseason without a healthy level of drama, and the concerns with the lack of an extension are filling that void.

Still, the team should remain active, looking at potential depth upgrades and potentially impactful veterans. With this in mind, there is no better final landing spot for NFL legend and 2x Super Bowl champion Von Miller.

While Miller isn’t the dominating force he once was, the name value and ability to impact games in short bursts still make it a worthwhile signing. The Cowboys already have arguably the best pass rusher in the league and are simply looking to bolster depth. Signing Miller isn’t coming with the expectation of dominance, but veteran leadership and a handful of key plays. This is more than enough to justify the signing.

Dallas Cowboys Should Sign Von Miller

Cowboys Rumors: Sign Von Miller, Tyler Lockett Or Michael Gallup? + Micah Parsons vs. Tank Lawrence

There should be a healthy level of desperation as well in Dallas with the hated Philadelphia Eagles looking to defend their Super Bowl title. It isn’t only the Eagles that the Cowboys have to be concerned with due to the surprise emergence of Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. These two division rivals demand that the Cowboys treat this offseason with a higher level of urgency.

Bringing in Miller provides an established winner to a defense that hasn’t yet accomplished anything of note. It gives the group someone to lean on and a player capable of still showing flashes of his greatness. Adding Miller is about continuing to prove you want to compete in the division and showing an understanding of what has happened over the last year.

For Miller, you’ve already won a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams, and having a chance to wear the iconic Dallas colors is a great final career move. It breathes relevance back into his career and gives the pass rusher an elevated chance of turning back the clock just a bit, reminding the league of who he once was.
