BREAKING : Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Provides Health Update For Upcoming Season

Dak Prescott throws the ball.

After missing the majority of the 2024 season, Dak Prescott is healthy and ready to start at quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

Dak Prescott Shares Health Update

Prescott’s 2024 season was cut short after suffering a right hamstring injury in Week 9. Prescott missed the remainder of the 2024 season.

While speaking with the media during his free football camp in Texas, the Cowboys quarterback said he expects to be a full participant at training camp.

“Yeah, I’ll be full-go for camp,” Prescott said Tuesday via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “I’m healthy. I think soon here I will probably get an official sign-off from doc, but I’m healthy.”

That’s promising news for the Cowboys, who missed the postseason a season ago with a 7-10 record.

Prescott finished his 2024 campaign throwing for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions with a 64.7 completion percentage in eight games.

Dallas Cowboys Enter 2025 Season With New Pieces In Key Positions

After missing the playoffs, the Cowboys parted ways with head coach Mike McCarthy after five seasons. Owner Jerry Jones promoted offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to head coach.

Besides the head coach, Prescott will have a new wide receiver on the outside in George Pickens. The Cowboys traded a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick.

The Cowboys desperately needed a second wide receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb.

Prescott believes it won’t take “long” for Pickens to familiarize himself with the Cowboys’ offense. Prescott also mentioned how he has a successful history of working with new receivers acquired via trade. Amari Cooper and Brandin Cooks both found success after being traded to the Cowboys.

As for Pickens, Prescott believes it will be easy to get the talented wide receiver the ball.

“Go turn on that guy’s tape. He’s getting separation” Prescott said. “He’s got separation even when he’s not getting the ball at times, and when he doesn’t have separation he’s still making the catches. It’s not going to be hard. For me, it’s about getting the ball near that guy and he will be George Pickens. Go turn on the tape — he’s great at doing it.”

Pickens’ talent has never been questioned. The former Georgia star has accumulated 174 receptions for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, Pickens’ behavior — including multiple on-the-field and off-the-field incidents with players and coaches — likely led to the Steelers making a trade.

Prescott and Pickens open the NFL season in Philadelphia against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sept. 4.
