BREAKING : Green Bay Packers Rookie Will Win More Hearts After Golden Off-The-Field Move

Green Bay Packers, Matthew Golden

One of the biggest areas that the Green Bay Packers needed to address following the 2024 NFL season was the depth of their wide receiver room.

They showed how serious they were on that front when they, for the first time since the early 2000s, used a first-round pick in the NFL draft on a wide receiver, with Green Bay taking former Texas Longhorns star wideout Matthew Golden with the No. 23 overall selection.

It may take some more time for Golden to feel fully acclimated to the pro environment but he’s already came away with a strong impression from the team during the minicamp.

Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst even described Golden as someone “wired exactly how we want our guys. “

More can be seen from Golden and what he can do on the field for the Packers when the team breaks into training camp, beginning on July 23.

While Packers fans have yet to see him make magic on the field, he’s already winning people’s hearts not just with flashes of his potential during the minicamp and in practices but also with his gestures away from the gridiron.

On Monday, Golden shared a series of photos via Instagram, including one that shows him posing with kids after buying them shoes.

Golden can certainly afford such a splurge, especially for a good cause. He signed a four-year deal worth $17.57 million with the Packers, including a signing bonus of $9.4 million.
