Detroit was one of the best rosters last season, with elite players who gave us unforgettable plays. They destroyed great teams on several occasions, demonstrating their supremacy and earning the affection of the NFL fans. However, not all players feel that acceptance from the fans, as is the case with one linebacker.
By November 2024, the Lions (11-1) led the NFC, having the best record in team history after 12 games. With their 10-game winning streak, they tied the franchise record dating back to 1934. Their last round was the Divisional Round against the Washington Commanders.
Detroit linebacker among NFL’s top 10
It’s rare to see such a complete team acting like it has something to prove. We’re talking eight players ranked among the top 10 at their positions, one of the deepest rosters in the league, and legitimate Super Bowl potential. And yet, one name continues to fly under the radar
Jack Campbell isn’t on the bench. He’s not a football player hoping to make the roster. He’s one of the top 10 linebackers in the NFL, according to PFF. And yet, if you scroll through social media or even turn on your TV or car radio, you barely hear his name.
NFL.com’s Eric Edholm didn’t sugarcoat it either. He noted that Campbell struggled in coverage, struggled to make an impact as a blitzer, and missed too many tackles. “Less of the nervous, panicky Campbell,” he says, “is what the Lions need if they want a breakout season.”

The league is slowly waking up to Jack Campbell. Analysts are finally realizing Jack’s true potential. Pride of Detroit highlighted PFF’s latest opinion, ranking Jack Campbell as the 10th-best linebacker in the league, thanks to a solid 78.7 overall grade.
